Hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and general industrial sealing. Best cost-to-performance ratio in the industry — the default choice unless conditions rule it out.
High heat, aggressive chemicals, automotive engine bays. Costs 3–5× NBR, but nothing else survives where FKM is genuinely needed.
Food contact, medical, or extreme temperature swings. Note the weak tear strength — never use silicone in dynamic or high-abrasion service.
