DIE-CUT & MOLDED

Rubber Gaskets & Spacers

Flat-face seals for flanges, pipe joints, covers and enclosures. Die-cut or molded to your drawing in NBR, EPDM, silicone or FKM — compensating for uneven mating surfaces while sealing out water, dust and process media.

  • ✓Static flange and face sealing — pipe joints, pump and valve end faces
  • ✓Die-cut for speed and economy, molded for complex profiles
  • ✓NBR, EPDM, VMQ silicone, FKM — custom thickness and bolt patterns
  • ✓Compressed face compensates slight unevenness of the joint surface
  • ✓Elastic cushioning: shock absorption, anti-slip and electrical insulation in one part

TECHNICAL DATA

Material Selection Guide

Match the compound to your media — the wrong rubber in the wrong fluid is the most common gasket failure we see.

MaterialBest ForTemp. Range
NBR (Buna-N)Mineral oil, gasoline and hydraulic lines — the universal grade.-30°C to +100°C
EPDMWater, hot water, steam, antifreeze — water supply, drainage and HVAC.-50°C to +150°C
VMQ SiliconeFood and medical equipment, high-temperature air — sanitary grades.-60°C to +200°C
FKM (Viton®)Oil-resistant, reinforced, high-temperature and chemical service.-20°C to +200°C

COMMON QUESTIONS

Gasket FAQ

Are rubber gaskets only for static sealing?
Yes — flat gaskets seal clamped faces and are not suitable for reciprocating or rotating dynamic service. For motion, look at our O-rings, X-rings or hydraulic seals.
Die-cut or molded — which is cheaper?
Die-cutting wins on tooling cost and lead time for flat profiles; molding wins for complex 3D shapes and very high volumes. We will quote both if you are unsure.
What are the limits of flat rubber gaskets?
Under high pressure they can extrude — use a retaining ring or a composite gasket — and long high-temperature service causes compression set and hardening. They also need uniform bolt torque: uneven torque is a classic leak cause.
How do I choose the material?
Cold water and steam → EPDM; engine and hydraulic oil → NBR; food contact and high-temperature air → VMQ silicone; strong solvents and high-temperature oil → FKM. Tell us the media and temperature and we will confirm.
